NV Black Label Sparkling Shiraz

NV Black Label Sparkling Shiraz

Lose yourself in the pleasures and the complexities of our Sparkling Shiraz. A unique, Australian wine with generosity, lush fruit and real depth of flavour. A timeless wine to drink and share. This release has been enhanced with the addition of back-vintage wines from our Museum stocks. The addition of a quantity of aged wines has added a depth of flavour and resulted in a more structured wine.

This is an appealing combination of luscious Shiraz fruit with plums, cassis, spice and black currant joined with the joy of sparkling wine. The perfect wine to take to party or barbecue, it has the depth and the structure match exceptionally well with a host of cuisines from Chinese to Mexican. This Sparkling Shiraz will continue to age in the bottle for the next four to six years, but it is brilliant to drink now.

Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
"Deep, bright red/purple colour. Fragrant berry aromas suggest raspberry, cassis and mulberry, laced with an array of spices. The aromas are lifted by some fancy oak. Very attractive. The palate is full-bodied and laden with tannin, which adds firmness but the wine is concentrated and deep, and everything is in superb balance. Long, long carry and a touch of elegance. A striking shiraz bubbly. 92/100 Huon Hooke"
Vineyard Notes
A warm spring led to good fruit set and healthy vines. The dry and warm weather through the growing season ensured that the fruit was in good condition with generous flavours when it was handpicked.
Winemaker Notes
The fruit was hand harvested and fermented in open vats with daily hand plunging. A brief post fermentation maceration was carried out to enhance the integration of fine tannins. The wine was aged in a combination of seasoned French oak barrels and a 5% addition of base wine from the 2013 vintage was added for complexity.
Food Pairing Notes
Will suit an array of cuisines from Chinese to Mexican
