Our Pinot Noir vineyard is set amongst the gentle slopes of the Yarra Valley and provides a spectacular backdrop for Balgownie Estate. A delicate and youthful wine with gentle cherry and spice fruit.
The sensational quality of the fruit produced in the 2017 vintage prompted the production of a Cabernet Franc for the first time. Made in very limited qualities, this is superb and smooth wine with berries and spice around a savoury core.
Barrel aged in well-seasoned French oak barriques, this is a richer style of Sangiovese from a warmer year with deep, complex flavours of cherry, blackberry, currants and spice, framed by grippy tannins.
Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot flourish in the conditions at Bendigo and produce a lovely rich red with flavours of black currants, plums, cassis and spice, with a touch of oak. Beautiful with roast lamb.
